I will consider trades for a Lexus GX470, diesel pickups, smaller gas pickups, or maybe something else that spikes my interest.
First off, I absolutely love this car. I looked for a long time for the perfect S500 before I bought this. When I was searching for one, I was considering a few things. I looked at the number of owners, carfax history, etc. Also had to be a 2004+ (these cars went through a major interior and slight exterior update in 2003, 2003 cars had early facelift issues), black on black, an S500 (5-liter V8, overall nicer on the interior), and had to be RWD for the 7 speed transmission. Just a couple things to think about if you're in the market.
2004 Mercedes Benz S500
5.0L V8, RWD
7G-Tronic transmission (car cruises ~2k rpm at 80mph and averages 26-28 mpg)
148k miles, all highway.
Black exterior
Black leather interior
Two previous owners, both owned it for ~50k miles each before myself, carfax shows car was meticulously maintained by Mercedes dealerships under their ownership. I bought the car completely stock at 105,000 miles.
Modifications
RENNtech Electronic Lowering Module, car rides at a safe height for driving or dumped out with a flick of a switch
Dension Gateway 500, integrates Apple products, USB, Aux input, etc into the factory Nav head unit
European boot
The car's body is completely straight. There is maybe one small door ding that I have found on the entire car. Oil changes and maintenance have been done at specified intervals per the car's message center. Within the past year, I have replaced all 16 spark plugs, both air filters, and transmission mount, and rear brake pads and rotors. Within the last few months I have done the front pads with EBCs. Since owning it for the past 40k miles, I have never had any major issues and have just done regular maintenance.
