  • FS 1978 VW Rabbit C oem

Just a feeler.. Might sell both of my cars to get into a newer VW. Bought this from a good friend of mine.... He had the vehicle garaged for the last two and half year..

    Vehicle located in Wichita,KS

Odometer is correct at just over 80k when I purchased it from him.. Has almost 82k on it now since I purchased it and been driving it to work almost daily..

Previous owner from here had it on vortex as well and was shipped from Califonia to Tulsa.

    Stock 1.5 4-speed
Original a/c which blows cold air, verified on the 2 1/2 hour drive home (most the car was driven in the last 3 years)
Mechanically sound, changing out fuel pump relay and fuel filter this weekend. Typical mk1 lol
New plugs and wires installed within the last 200 miles
New CIS boot, new cv boots cap and rotor
Injector seals are good just checked when plugs were done (have new set included)
Clutch is smooth, was slipping on the way home from Tulsa but has been fine since get the occasional slip when floorin it up hill (original clutch) stock clutch Sachs kit is $98 on MJM autohause website
Does leak some oil very minimal, may be tranny will include main seal in the sell, I keep an eye on fluids daily..

All electronics minus original radio are good, all lights, bright interior and tailings are mint (will include two set of tails, euro and French set)

Interior is in great shape all original, slight tear in driver side seat, rear doesn't even looked used, carpet not stained up, dash has a few cracks but has a perfect mk1 dash cover, e brake handle is great and had cable had been replaced, original shift knob and wheel, door cards are perfect headliner is not sagging and seals in trunk and doors are excellent, all original glass is mint no cracks or pitting have more trim parts and all the exterior trim is in good shape and have all the clips to replace and install..

Exterior, it's 34 years old but all original, few slight dings on the roof near driver side rear hatch, one behind the rear driver side quarter.. Nothing major, no hail damage no clear peeling, one rust spot on rear passenger apron but not through the metal.. No rust under vehicle strut towers are flawless..

As for suspension vehicle has Jom coilovers which ride really well tbh, has 15x6 corrado steelies with new 195/50 falken 512's.. Handles great and rear and front brakes have been done and bled..

Really is a true survivor that was looked after really well.. I truly will never come across one this clean again but can't keep them all and ready to settle down with cars for awhile.. Living situation is changing so this may be leaving.. Ugh..

Please email or text me, I will get more pictures this weekend since it is suppose to be beautiful outside in the Midwest..

Since per rules I need to post a price I will post one even though its not firm by far.. 6500 obo
I don't have to sell nor feel like getting low balled or feel like trading for any other vehicle also will be very picky about who I sell it to. This car needs to stay pristine and not chopped up.. Great daily in my eyes and the best vw I have ever had out of the 13 between me and my wife have had.

    Day I drove it home
