For sale a 1978 VW super beetle convertible- champaign edition II.

I acquired the car a few months ago and just don't have time for it and rather see it waste away, I rather see if anyone would be interested in it.

the car has about 150k on the clock and is a Fuel Injected 1600cc motor with a 4 speed.

When I got the car it had not been touched in at least 6 or 7 years, but the after a little bit my father and I got it running and driving.

The brakes are bled and work well and the car runs. However, the car is not charging the battery and the wiring for the alternator may of rusted apart. I am not too sure as I do not have time for the car.

the car has really nice seats and door panels but there was a leak that the PO never attended too and the headliner is moldy and the carpet has the smell of mildew. the pictures also show there is some rust and rot from sitting so long. the support rail on the driver side has a small dime size hole in it and the the rear tray has two holes right above where the torsion bar ends would be, the frame head seemed okay and floors seem mostly solid, maybe slightly soft from rust, there is also a slight dent in the front clip

the PO repainted the car white as the original color seems to of been a special edition blue that came on the 78 and 79 models of the convertibles.
the car is really a great project and I don't think it would take much to get it road worthy, I was pretty much planning on cleaning her up inside, replace the window seals and canvas roof, doing some quick patches and drive it as is.
$2000.00 or best offer. Worst thing I can do is say no.
