Photo Album: 1972 Baja Bug
Everything on this Bug has been replaced or upgraded. This has been my project for over two years. 90% of this car's life was in Arizona. You won't find another bug with so little rust in CO. Everything that was replaced was upgraded and I have ALL of the recepts. This car is exciting to drive and turns heads like nothing you've driven before.
The major upgrades include:
New front beam with lifted spindles
Brand new wiring harness.
Freshly rebuilt 1914cc motor.
New CV's and axles.
New battery.
Large tires, heavy duty off road adapters for ford 5 lug pattern. Full size spare.
New front disc brakes, and new drums. New master cylinder. brake lines
Roof rack, Two KC day lighters on the rack.
Rhino lined pan.
Roll cage. 4 point harness. New folding seats.
New custom dash and steering wheel.
Rear seat removed and replaced with storage box.
Diesel powered heater made for semi truck cab.
Fuel cell in rear of car w/ breather hose.
Porsche stereo with aux input, with front kick panel speakers.
I have receipts for all of the parts and labor. The odometer was replaced, didn't have one when I bought it. The miles you see on the odometer are the miles on all of these upgrades. Less than 2,000.
It could use a good tune. The windshield wipers aren't wired in, everything is there, its just not connected. This would perfect for someone good with VW's. its all there just needs some tuning. If you put a bugger carb on this car like a weber or dellorto or two it would solve the problem and give you a lot more power.
It needs to be emissions tested here in CO so I can renew its registration in AZ. But it idles rough in the cold/high altitude and the guys at the emissions place won't test it. It did not fail, they claim they can't get an accurate reading unless its idling smoothly, so won't test it. I'm in the process of getting a new main jet which should solve the issue. Right now the price for the car is $3500 as-is. Once it runs smoothly and is tested and renewed, I'll return to my original asking price.
As far as trades im looking for some thing reliable. A toyota truck, or suv. Subaru, volvo. Preferably RWD/AWD and Manual transmission. Not another project, no motorcycles, ATV's, sandrails, or guns. And yes i have already been offered all of those lol
