Location: Central NJ, 08559
Year: 1988
Make: Jaguar (pre-ford ownership
)
Model: Round-headlight Xj40 Xj6
Interior color: AFW (Barley)
Exterior color: Deep burgundy w/ tan stripe
Mileage: TMU (cluster replaced, mileage is approx. 180k. Cluster reads 260k (km?))
I have a comprehensive folder with documentation for the entire life of the car. Largely dealer serviced at Reedman dealership In langhorne PA and a jaguar specialist in yardley PA later in life.
Runs perfectly. No lifter noise, no smoke, no oil burn, no nonsense. Trans was either rebuilt or replaced due to failure in the 90's, estimating 100k miles on it. Shifts perfectly, and trans-mount spring system still fully functional. Rear makes no noise, yet seems to either have, or have had a fluid leak. The level is always good, but there is build-up on the case on the outside. This makes me think somebody messed up on a diff-service and had to re-do it.
Interior: power seats, power windows, central locks, power sunroof, climate control ALL WORK with no signs of weak motors. Front leather seats are in good original condition with some slight wear on them. Gorgeous, BRAND NEW headliner!
Exterior: This car has received a quality paint job in the last few years, but their are some imperfections to address. There is rust spots on the front fenders, and rust spots on the rear quarters. These are average, or lesser than average amounts of rust for the age. These can be filled, and i plan to do so sooner or later.
Wheels/Tires: Stock wheels are in OK condition, all 4 center caps are included. They are on correct Pirelli P4000 super touring tires with a lot of tread left.
-Car is on 16x8.5 Salad Shooters right now. These could use a wet sand, since there are a few imperfections in them, but no big deal. Centers and slots are black. Tires are new goodyear 205/65/16 tires and ride good. Hub bores were professionally machined to accept the larger jaguar hub. This was about a $800 dollar wheel/tire setup for me, and it paid off.
Suspension: Rear suspension has been converted from self leveling to strut/spring suspension. The rear is lowered about 1.5 inches from stock as a result. Front suspension is stock. If i keep the car long enough, I'll invest in lowering the front more. Shocks are, however, brand new up front.
This is a very honest description of my XJ6. It shines up great and breaks necks, and it has the drivability of any new car. Power is increased with a legitimate Mina Gallery cold air intake, and the stock air box is included. The intake opens up a lot of power and makes the car rumble a bit!
I would ideally like to trade for an E21, but throw your offers at me. Also, I accept cash offers, around let's say $4500. My number is 215-808-9736 my email is bennkishh@gmail.com or you can get in touch with me on S|W.
