  • FS: 1981 VW caddy, 1.6l NA diesel, full air-ride...

Ok, so ive decided to put my 81 1.6NA 4-spd caddy up for sale... ive
found a new project and it needs to go before i can move on to the new
one.... the odometer quit working at 239,885 and i would assume it has
around 250k by now... I have daily driven this truck for a solid year
and it has been nothing but reliable and has never left me stranded...
Has made it to and from: H2Oi , SoWo, Eurohangar, and multiple other
shows... i wouldnt think twice to jump in and drive it to H2Oi again
this year (which i will if the buyer wants )
I bought this truck with every intention of doing a full resto on it,
but have since lost motivation to do so... with that said,
yes it does have rust... its 31 years old... the main rust is in the
passenger side innerfender/firewall/strut tower area.... I have a full
passenger side clip from a donor (behind firewall all the way up to
core support.) *which will be included as well as a brand new upper
wing repair panel from klokkerhelm to mend some minor areas on the
donor piece... *theres a rotted spot in the bed, drivers side rear
quarter area, minor spots on the doors, and the normal corners of the
windshield area, and some minor floorboard rot as well...

    Suspension:
-OldSkoolVulcanWerks Air-support front bag system (raised towers, mk4
upper strut bushing/bearings) over Raceland front's
-Rears are contitech dual ply bags, upper mounting plates are welded
to the frame rails, while the lower plates are bolted through the main
leaf spring (all other leafs have been removed) and flipped beam... it
is currently on the stock shocks because i havent gotten around to
getting the lowered bug shocks... the rear is held up by the shocks
when fully aired out...so with the new shocks the rear will go
    lower...
The front will lay frame rails/oil-pan on the ground fully aired out,
with room to spare... Currently you can pull it up on 2x4's and air it
out and its about 1/8" from laying out... these bags go low.
Air-lift easy street management w/paddle valves... tank and compressor
are mounted underneath the bed, the gauges are in the cubby hole under
the radio, and the switches are in the period correct awesome speakers
on the floor infront of the shifter...

    Interior:
was originally burgundy, and have started to swap over to tan
interior. mostly tan at this point but have everything to finish
swapping over to tan (except for carpet and headliner)...as well as
all of the original burgundy stuff as well...
Tan leather Corrado seats (butt-drop feature for my 6'3" ass to fit in
it comfortably.) they are in alright condition, definately used but i
was gonna get them recovered anyways...
I also have a black leather Scirocco sport steering wheel which will
be in the truck at time of sale (not the nardi wheel currently in it)
Temp gauge and fuel gauge are finicky, but from what ive read its just
a voltage regulator issue (cheap fix)

    Exterior:
paint is in pretty good shape, it shines up very nicely for being 31
    years old...
front bumpers have been tucked in around 3" and also have added Big
chrome over-riders (still have the small black ones also)
van-weizel small front lip. I also have since acquired an OEM one as well...
The truck is an LX so it has all of the Stainless trim goodies you
could want... fender arches, rain-gutter trims, top of tailgate,
etc... Also has a dealer installed pop-up sun roof.
Euro-only rear bubble window for extra head room (bought from saddest66day6)
Currently on 13x7" schmidt modernlines ....on 175/50 sumo's but they
are worn and will need replaced.....

im sure theres more, if you want to know, just ask...i have no reason
to hide anything... *but on to the pics....

Price: As always...the pricing is OR BEST OFFER ... also if you dont
agree with it, you dont have to comment...keep on moving...but i know
    how these forums are...

As it sits, with all of the interior extras, rust repair pieces,
pretty much everything ive collected over time for this truck, *im
    looking for around $5500....OBO

All of the above, but without the schmidts, $4500 obo.....

i can deliver to H2O this year, and will be willing to do so as long
as buyer agrees to pay something as a non-refundable deposit... (im
not wasting my time/fuel to load all of the extra stuff up to bring it
to OCMD for no reason..) also willing to meet up within a reasonable
    distance.

    thanks for looking

That's cool and all, but asking prices are just that...and prices are required in ad's... If someone was to make me a reasonable, non-insulting offer somewhere near the range posted... I could always let it go.. But nowhere in my post did I say "firm or non-negotiable" now did I???

I expect these kinds of posts... I know how the forums are and don't let shit bother me. Everyone has there own opinions...
      Good day.

Those are not Schmidt Modernline wheels. Those are Revolution RFX wheels. Schmidt never made modernlines in anything smaller than 15 inches.
