I believe the golf tee mod is a clutch stop.

it opens the flapper in the right exhaust pipe. makes for a slightly throatier sound in lower rpms. the flapper open at 2500 rpms but the golf tee mod keeps it open at all times.

Agh, did not know about the exhaust valve. wish i could make my M throatier with a mod like that.

its only slightly noticeable. nothing drastic. you can really notice it at lower rpm in 2nd and 3rd though. but over all it still is a stock exhaust sooooo...
