  • WTB: Anything with style

    Okay, so here's my problem.

I have a 2008 Scion tC, that I drive daily and it has served me well as my first car. It's mint, and I maintain it regularly. I also have a little sister who is going to be 16 come September, and as is the familial hazard, I happen to love her quite a bit. My plan is to buy a car, cheap and stylish, via the StanceWorks forum, and then give her my car. I want her to have the ability to drive something that isn't completely awful. I understand that this may seem idiotic, or maybe even stupid. ****** gonna **** and all that jazz.

    Anyway!

What I am asking is that anyone with a car to sell between the 0-3500$ area, get at me. I love older Japanese and German cars. Preferably nothing newer than 1995. Seriously, anything that is unique or cool, or stylish. I'd like low, but its not absolutely necessary.

My info: I live in Texas, and I will be willing to come and pick the car up within 1,000 miles.
I am not always on SW (As much as I would like to be), so email me here for the quickest response: blakedove@msn.com

To wrap things up, thanks StanceWorks. For being ****ing awesome.

People don't typically post WTBs here... If you want something nice you're going to need to do some of the leg work...

you also have to realize that not everyone here lives in or near Texas, and not everyone had a older japanese car or german car they want to sell for that amount... you're really kind of cornering yourself. Also, your post count is pretty low, and people here want someone they can trust to take care of their car if they are going to sell it on here... All I can think of is that pic of SeanDub's car up on logs...

Honestly, I had no idea Sean's car was up on blocks. I love his e36.That seriously sucks. I have been on SW for while now... But I haven't posted anything because I haven't had anything to post about. Sorry if my post count is too low to add to my credibility. I have done most of my legwork, it just so happens that the only time people get results is by asking questions and letting other people know that their is a demand for their particular "product" I.e in this case a vehicle. I'm a member on JNC, and I know my stuff. I just so happened to notice that from time to time their is a selection of nicer older cars that pop up in the SW forums. I post a WTB not because I am lazy, but because I am trying to make progress. Thanks for illuminating me on the more hard to understand bits about forum etiquette. I'm not buying a car to trash it, or hurt anybody's feelings. I just have an idea of what I like, I am not even asking specifically for something that is someone's baby. The part I mention that I am willing to pick up a car 1,000 miles away seems to escape your notice, so I won't bother mentioning that in response to "not everyone lives in Texas". I might have to add this in, but if I am going to face this kind of thing every time I post here... Please don't bother posting anything other than information relating to cars or offers or anything I can work with.

I'll play - I am selling a Mercedes Benz 500E for $4700... I am located pretty far from Texas (NJ/NYC), and the car is not stanced... but as a factory rare widebody car, it would not take much effort to make it look awesome (suspension + wheels). Check my thread! Good luck with your search.

I know you didn't like all of my comments, but to be honest, they probably worked better as a bump for this thread than a "GLWP" or something. I know it's not the same for anyone, but with WTBs there's a lot of waiting around for something perfect in terms of desire and price, but the posts tend to be few and far between just because the threads fall off the first few pages pretty quickly. The FS threads stay up because people are constantly posting questions and bumping the threads because it happens to be a nice car. People check out FS threads just to see where their own car's price range is, even if they aren't selling...

For the most part, people that have cars for sale already have threads up here or elsewhere, so my comments were simply in the same vein as someone posting "Search" in a thread where someone asks what type of wheel "these" are... I did not mean any offense.

And by the way, here's another free bump... This is what I get for feeling bad for you because of all the views, but no posts...

Thanks, I appreciate the bump. I am not waiting for perfect, just seeing what's out there.
