WTB: BMW e28

I would like to buy a BMW e28
This means 535i, 535is, 533i, 528e, and other euro imports
1. I prefer 5spd but i will accept an automatic if the car is right
2. NO rust; small surface rust is tolerable knowing that it is near impossible to find one without rust. Just no rotting floor pans, fenders, or moon roofs.
3. Truly looking for a euro e28 or a euro conversion, but not expecting to find one
4. I have a budget of up to $6,000 but really looking to spend under $4,000
5. I would prefer black interior, but i also love the red and tan is acceptable
6. I am located in CA, but willing to travel if necessary
7. Looking for something as much original as possible

Sorry if I have left anything out, but show me what you have! I would love too see what else is out there considering I have searched high and low.

Good luck, I've been searching diligently for two months with little results. Your budget is more than mine, but clean, well maintained E28s are quickly becoming few and far between. Good luck nonetheless

Thanks, I have been on the hunt for quite some time also and like you said, a clean e28 is very difficult to come across! The search continues, but there has to be one out there somewhere.

'87 IS auto

I have an '87 535IS auto. Paint is faded as hell. Clean Pearl Beige interior(Sport). Straight body(never an accident...measured square w. all original panels). Reconditioned BBS basketweaves(open) repainted silver in Jan. w. no new curb rash- on Dunlop Direzza Star Specs. Uninstalled Euro Rear Headrests and Euro Headlights(ordered from the Netherlands, really beautiful). Lots of work/$$ in it just to get it somewhat sorted...but still needs new oil pan(I have one), rear diff. bushing. Bottom line...it's an auto and the paint is pretty shot but its still an E28 and kinda cool. Hit me up if you want some pix.

this thread popped up on google and i have the car that you seem to be trying to look for

87 e28 535is canadian model
not a single spec of rust, paint is in 8/10 red exterior with black trim/ bumpers
full euro/bravarian exterior conversion all items are period correct including original HELLA headlamps and euro fog ligts
euro interior dash, recaro seats all in black leather and all black interior
the car is a AC PS and cruise control model
wheels are 16/8 racing dinamics also period correct
miles are 125,xxx
motor has some mods and its also a 5 speed with lsd
