  • PA- Sale or Trade: M50 swapped Bmw 318ti!

Located in Denver, PA 17517. Will deliver within' reason for the cost of gas/tolls.

    Text 717-271-8781 with serious interest.

I recently got rid of my e46 m3 and I'm looking to sell off a few toys to pick up an e36 m3.

    Quick Rundown:

    -1996 318ti
    -237K on chassis, 190K on obdI non-vanos M50 Swap (from 1992 325i)
    -Apex lowering springs
    -18" Mille Miglia wheels

I recently completed the M50 swap, I drove the car for a week straight after the swap with no major issues however the car is far from perfect.

The car is pretty quick and definitely a blast to drive. I did the swap fairly quickly with intentions of freshening things up as time went on. This is a great base for a project, or fix a few things and daily drive it.

I wasn't intending on selling this off before it was "finished" but with the sudden decision to part with my e46 I'd like to get into an e36 m3 so some of the other toys need to go.

Things that should be given attention (I'm honest and don't want to give you any surprises):

-Needs a new Ignition cylinder/key. Tumbler went bad and key would no longer turn so the car is currently started with a flat screw driver spin of the ignition switch (I bought it this way)

-Driver's door needs replaced, it is dented up badly and the window regulator is useless.

-Front suspension is tired, struts should be replaced as well as control arm bushings and likely a few other things.

-Interior has seen better days, needs a good shampooing and drivers door panel should be replaced. Radio trim, and defrost buttons need replaced.

-Exterior looks good in pictures, but the paint and body aren't perfect.

-Engine could use a new VC gasket, and the driver's side motor mount is torn.

    -There is no ac.

-Exhaust needs finished. It stops where the typical e36 muffler would bolt on (does have cats). Ti's are different from there on so it needs a shop to do some custom piping.

    -Passenger window is off track.

-Transmission grinds into 2nd most of the time. I will include the transmission from the m44 which will bolt right up.

I kept the 318 rear which makes the car accelerate very quickly but kills top end speed. I've read that this rear will self destruct if you throw any power adders at the car.

No need to sell, but for the right off it'll go.

People that should buy this car:

    -Those that are mechanically inclined
-Someone that is not a perfectionist
-Someone looking for a fun car
-Someone that has something else to drive everyday

People that should click the back button:

-Those that take their car to a shop for everything
-High school kids that need to bring Daddy along to approve and "inspect" the car
-Someone that needs to take the car to their mechanic to "look it over" first
-Someone that has no other car.

Simply put, this is a car for a person that enjoys a project and is willing to get down and dirty.

****I had the car inspected and emissioned in PA when it was bone stock prior to doing the swap, lowering springs, wheels, etc... that is good through 11/2012. HOWEVER, this car will not pass emissions properly in any obdII emissions area. Please know your laws before contacting me.*****

Currently the cluster is from the m44 engine, however I'll be swapping in the proper M50 cluster as soon as I get a spare moment.

    Price is $2800 FIRM.

I can lower the price to $2600 if you want it on a set of stock bottle cap wheels.

I'd glady trade for a rough, broken, or wrecked e36 m3, or possibly the right e36 coupe. Also open to anything interesting (e28, e30, e34, miata, 240sx etc...)
