  • 00 Euro spec CarbonSchwartz E39 M5 68k

Ive got an pristine example of a clean M5. It kills me to get rid of it but i hardly drive it and i recently started a business and could use the capital.
This is truly a fantastic car, perfect balance of performance and luxury that never gets old.
The car is originally a european car imported to the states back in 01 with 8k miles by the original owner.
    Clean title, no accidents.
The car was always garage kept and very well maintained.
    Never abused, always kept clean.
    No smoking or burning oil

    Car has 68,888 miles
    9/10 Exterior
    9.5/10 Interior

    Pro's of being euro spec:
    Stronger, more powerful engine
    Factory clear corner headlights
    Factory euro trunk (wider plate)
Factory first aid kit under passenger seat
Factory euro dash (more leg room)
Factory euro tool kit w/ triangle
    Factory TV tuner (uninstalled)
More that i cant recall at the moment.

    Maintenance:
Castrol 10w60 oil changes every 5k
    All new belts
    Platinum spark plugs
    K&N drop in air filters
    New oil separators and hoses
    Throttle bodies recently serviced/cleaned
All new ball joints and bushings front and rear
    Dunlop Direzza Z1 tires
Brand new secondary air pump (not installed)

    Upgrades:
    JIC/Cross coilovers
    UUC transmission mounts
    OEM 16:9 navigation
MKIII Navigation computer with 2010 disc
    Hamann Carbon fiber lip
Car phone removed for OEM arm rest/tray
    Smoked side lights
    4" brake/intake ducts
Dice mediabridge Bluetooth audio/phone, ipod interface on monitor with steering wheel controls (best upgrade)

older interior pics before 16:9 screen and car phone delete

Its hard enough to find a low milage e39 M5 these days, even more so to find one of the few titled and driven in Germany then imported to the states in such great shape. Ive spent over 10k in maintenance and upgrades, i know its worth more but ive priced it at fair market value.
I have tons more pics from when i originally purchased it till now. Im sure theres a lot i'm forgetting come take a look, the car speaks for its self.

For more info or if you'd like to come take a look at the car give me a call.
    1-516-993-7315 Jason

Im asking 19,000 or best offer.
Im located in Long Island, NY.

possible trades for LSX swapped S14 or Z33

OMG this car is badass. My good friend has a black e39 m5, same year (not imported obviously do to rareness) and its pretty sick. But i think noticed one thing that you should re-edit / some things to add. (I have a e46 M3, and don't really know to much about the m5... so correct me if i'm wrong)

But, i dont think you should state that the euro engine is "more powerful / stronger" to mis-lead a possible buyer. 400 PS (euro power) is the same thing as 394 SAE (us power)... Some people mistake this because the cats are closer to the headers in US spec cars, so it decreases its power, but this is only true for the e46 m3... not the e39 m5. Also the engine's have the same strength and in NO way is the Euro spec engine stronger... That would be fucking awesome, and an amazing option for m5 builders. but its not true either.

    The euro spec ALSO has
    - Double plane glass.
    - The euro spec m5's also have floating rotors (pretty sure)
    - Euro has open brake ducts???
    - and some things i think it might also have is a difference in the rear view mirror (convex) / rear fog lights?

Your car IS GREAT. And thats pretty badass that it is a real Euro car.
an easy way to prove to your buyers that it is not a US spec M5 is by pointing to the 7th digit in the VIN# and if thats a 3, then it is a US spec car. The only thing id question about buying this car is passing emissions? Is it the same? Your asking price is also right on point. I'd actually list it for a couple grand more then your asking if i was selling it, i can really tell you loved / took care of the car properly. GLWS, my friend also just put a Dinan exhaust on last week, sounds AWESOME, you should advise the buyer to get this.

Thanks! i forgot about the blind spot mirrors, floating rotors, brake ducts and rear fog lights. From what i understand the euro spec M5s had an additional 3hp from factory but i have swapped cars with fellow US spec m5 owners and my engine always seems to surprise them with how much more powerful it feels. I had it listed at 21 a few months ago and didn't get too many bites so i figured if i asked 19 ill get a little more feedback.

The car was converted upon import to pass emissions but i had the primary cats removed so no the car wont pass unless you get a tune or put cats back in.

Also from my understanding the euro spec ECUs are a lot more lenient about throwing the silly codes (opening fuel tank while running etc..)

If you were interested in a trade id love a laguna seca M3

If you were in chicago id actaully consider doing the trade, the friend with a m5 has offered a trade before, but yours is kinda nicer, or better condition. hes got a carbon diffuser that also pretty sick.

glws, and ever pop around chicago ill consider the trade, my cars got KW v2 coilovers (just got them, not installed) , 60k miles, carbon front lip, csl diffuser, and OEM 19s, and smaller things like fog'd corners / side markers, LED tails, angel eyes, projector HID fogs...

im trying to go for the OEM slammed look

I actually purchased this car and I have some plans for it.. It did need some work but it is what it is. After I get it back from the shop, I will send it over to the local body shop I go to and I will have the whole front end repainted and next summer I will have the vanos fixed. Already bought Bridgestone Pole Position tires. I also had it tuned through Active Autowerke to stage 2 and had the gauge cluster replaced. I have a longer list as far as what I've done to it but I'll post it later once its back.

EDIT: I also had the suspension slightly raised and some exhaust work needed to be done. I also took the Hamman lip off for now. Roads around work aren't all that great.
