  • Sweet Cruiser. 63 Chevy Nova. NJ $1500 runs+drives

Not quite a stanced car, but it could be VERY easily. Like I said below, if I had the time it'd be bagged

Pictures here: Please let me know if the link doesn't work, I'll get it fixed or make a new one. http://www.kodakgallery.com/gallery/...hotos-_-Sharee
His not-so-well written craigslist ad here: http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/2289946292.html

Long story short, dad picked it up for my sister's first car. Obviously not the right car for a 16yr old who doesn't know much about cars, but I wasn't going to be the one to say it.

Info: "Blurple" 63 Nova 4door. About as solid as you can find. It has a little bit of rust forming on the rear door bottoms, but that's it. Floors+trunk floor are SOLID. It was a desert car, gradually made it's way east and hasn't been exposed to the salt. Paint has some flaws, but doesn't look bad. When we got it the paint was chipped and showing some primer in a couple spots. Mom decided to paint that with a paint that doesn't match, and those spots don't look so hot.

258? inline 6cylinder (stock chevy, plenty of power), 4 barrel carb, NICE dual exhaust, converted to a 3 speed on the floor, manual steering, manual brakes. Clutch is good, doesn't slip at all. IIRC it was new when we swapped the tranny in (<100 miles ago) but I can't say for sure. Runs very well, and would run better if half an hour was spent on timing+cleaning the plugs, just haven't had time. My driving experiences below.

Interior was begun to be re-done. Front bench wasn't touched, it was going to be replaced since the springs are shot and was really too close + didn't move. Rear seat was re-wrapped. Can include two lap belts out of a scout to install for the front seat. Wasn't done b/c of above, waited for a new seat. Trunk is HUGE, I wanted to throw air shocks on the rear and pick up 3 or 4 kegs with it.

Tires are nearly brand new and in very good shape. Fairly new battery, forget which one is in there. May be the Optima out of the Scout and not as new, don't remember. 3 extra doors (in worse condtion) are included, as well as the parts from the 4th that was stripped and scrapped. A bunch of other spare parts are also included, don't remember what's in the box.

I'm really the only one that's driven the thing. We got it the beginning of last summer, and I drove it every chance I had. Why? Because it's damn fun to drive, and if I had time I'd throw some bags on it and a fuel injected motor and have an awesome highway cruiser. Sadly, I haven't been home since the summer and it has yet to go through inspection. I took it once and failed (never touched the motor and it was running RICH). Threw a different carb on, and it'll pass they just haven't had time to take it as far as I know. It is very comfortable at highway 55, I hit 85 on the speedo in it and it tracked straight and had no problem doing it. I was very comfortable.

Dad's asking $1500 on it, he's already taking I think a $1000 hit at that price. Needs it gone, we have 6 cars at home and my sister only drives the $20k Jeep, need to find her something that isn't a big SUV soon before she gets her license (she will NOT be driving that daily ).

WILL ENTERTAIN TRADES!! Make some offers. Remember, it's got to be safe for a teen girl. Jeep cherokees, BMW e30/e36, 4runners, VW Jetta, etc. Make some offers.

PM me if interested, or if you know anyone who is interested, etc. I'll either call you or have my dad call since he's the one at home with the car. I'm sure I left stuff out.

I might be interested if my old man is alright with another car in the driveway. Oh, and the motor's probably a 235, just so you know.

The link to the photo album doesn't work, try photobucket?

Thanks for the interest guys. I'm in the library as we speak, I'll get some more pics up a little later tonight. I was on the site before, maybe it gets overloaded or something? Damned if I know.

Thanks for the info on the motor, never known much about chevys. I was a big International Harvester guy before I got into the BMWs. It's got plenty of power for what it is, though

Shoot me a PM if you're really interested and I'll send you my cell # so we can talk. Way easier than thru the forum.

By the sounds of thinks we won't be the ones picking this up (the old man doesn't want it in the driveway), but GLWS man, it's a nice car.
