Absolutely gorgeous red with black leather 1979 635CSI Euro model with M90 motor and very rare dog leg 5spd!!
ONLY 104,000 ORIGINAL miles!! Because it's the Euro model all writing is in German, very cool. The price is $7,600.
Exterior:
Painted about 10 years ago-$5,000 dollar job done very well-paint is in outstanding condition.
Car has been garage kept and rarely driven by the previous owner(mechanic who owns about 10 cars).
When paint job was done side moldings were removed to clean it up, looks killer.
NO RUST!
One very very small door ding about 1 inch or less in diameter that you have to look very very hard to see.
Interior:
Original factory Recaro seats in good condition-drivers bolster has wear, passenger side has very minor bolster wear.
No cracks in dash!
The little cover pieces that go over the top of the interior door handles are missing, and the vinyl cover for the little storage compartment on the lower side of the passenger door has only cloth, vinyl piece is missing.
Speedo and all gauges work perfectly.
Carpet in good shape, headliner in good shape except where the wiring for the hands free has dropped through the rear of the headliner.
All in all the interior shows very well, most people look at it and can't believe the condition the interior is in.
Mechanical:
Rare M90 motor with 104K original miles-these motors go over 200K-300K very easily.
Motor is super tight with lots of torque-higher horsepower Euro model; 218HP.
Only issue is a wavering idle-warms up high(around 1500-1700 rpm) settles down and then has the wavering idle-sometimes when warmed up will sit around 1000-1100 or it will be around 800rpm-it has been looked at by a very competent mechanic here in Seattle, the conclusion is that it is probably the idle control valve, or it needs an ECU(been told any ECU with the 3.5 motor will work?). The car runs absolutely fantastic-it is only at idle where it is not perfect.
New brake pads-stops very well.
New fuel lines.
AC blows, just not cold-hey we live in Seattle.
Suspension:
Lowered, very nice stance. We are not sure what spring height it is on(previous owner), but the entire suspension has just been gone through and a lot of money was put into new bushings, struts, Bilstiens in the rear, sway bar bushings etc..
Wheels and tires:
Yes, I know they suck! These were on the car when purchased-225/50/16 with an offset that makes the left front tire rub when turning very tightly. I asked Mike Burroughs about it and he said most likely 215/50/16's in the front would help this-although most likely whoever buys this will put a killer set of BBS RS 17's or something like that on it to reach its true potential.
This is a very rare car being that it is the 79 Euro with the M90 motor and dog leg 5spd.
It is a no rust 635CSI(this is also rare) with very low miles and only two owners!
My brother and I bought this car together and were going to bring it to its full potential with the right set of wheels, but I have taxes to pay and he bought a jeep!?
Extras: Painted to match M3 rear wing and the stock wing that came on these, both in pristine condition. No fog lights(all wiring is there), new owner can find these for cheap.
