For all the bmw's in this thread is it not possible to do an engine lift? Even if its just 10mm?

Or is it too much work?

I love my m60 pan- Not only is it steel, but it's one of the highest things on the front of the car now. I still smash steering rack though

My pan actually looked like Walnuts' pan at STOCK ride height on my Firebird. I hammered out the majority of the dents during my engine rebuild. I'm maybe 3/4" lower and that's as low as I'll go here in Lubbock. I will just barely scrape my longtubes coming out of my driveway with a passenger.

Oil pump is actually centered around the crankshaft, so I don't have to worry about ruining any of that.

I also have a new tubular k-member that offers a little more clearance, but not quite as much protection. Nothing like losing 50 lbs of dead weight off the nose of a car
I'll be contemplating doing a full flat belly pan for the car after I finish school. Car will be going through an engine swap then and turbocharged

since i have an e36, we all know frame scrapes everything.

BUT, i do have multiple scratches on the grooves on the pan behind the chassis bar/brace. raised~1mm today for spacers, so thats not a factor anymore.

popped my cherry, jb welded and hoped for the best.

2nd time decided to weld the crack and jb weld for insurance, and add skid plate.

ground clearance. i cant push the skid plate up anymore. you can barely fit a finger between the pan and skid plate.
