  • Let's talk spring rates. E36 M

Don't drive the car very much, but pulled it out today to hear an awful sound from the passenger rear any time car went over any sort of bumps in the road. After some digging and looking, I've pretty much got it locked down to a blown strut.

Now, I'm looking at the broadway statics to replace (go big or go home & low!), but have no idea what sort of spring rates I should be looking at.

I noticed with the swift spring option, you can choose the rates. I love a firm ride, and plan on setting the car pretty low, so I'm ok with little suspension travel.

    Any input would be great!

Ps. Rtabs are in great shape, just going to upgrade the rear subframe bushings while I'm back there (they look pretty bad).

Thanks for the totally informative post. 14k for the drivers rear? See where I'm going with this.

I have broadways with 15k front/16k rear and it is a firm ride but not unbearable. I would be perfectly comfortable running higher rates like 16k/18k but I don't really need to since my car isn't very low.
