Hi guys, just registered although I've been coming to the site for a few years. Managed to get my '83 E21 down lower than a junky's morals, now I have to raise her up again to pass the UK road-test, annoying as it is.
Started swapping in taller springs again, though without removing the front strut. I pushed the strut insert down to give clearance and it popped. I take it the top seal has burst, the fluid /gas came out quick. They are damping-adjustable SPAX inserts.
Anyone had this happen to them? Not sure if I need to just get this thing re-gassed / sealed or if I need a whole new insert - over $150 in UK
