I have a 96 impala SS, I'm looking to upgrade suspension over the winter. I'm going for a moderate drop to start things off. I want to go 2" in the front and maybe 1.5" in the rear. My question is...where do I start? Lol what brands are best, should I consider coil overs? Any input or help would be appreciated

There's another guy on here with a 96 impala SS.
Also I own a 01 Camaro SS and I'm not sure if you have done any research yet, but I don't think there are any companies that make a true coilover for the rear of your car.
But as for the lowering you are looking for, you can just use springs. Coilovers aren't needed for that mild of a drop.
Here are 2 sets of springs that offer 2" drop for your car:

hey man, saw your message on my board. check out my build: http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=37055
glad to see another SS!!
A mild drop is about 1.2" or so all four corners. We have only one set of real coilovers for our cars, made by QA1 (i believe). Problem is our front control arms are made from typical flimsy GM metal, so you have to upgrade those before you can do a coil over setup (adding on another $500 dollars). You can go lower and get a stiffer suspension with just typical coil springs. Typical brands are gonna be eibach, hotchkis, and possibly ST if you can find them.Last edited by SuperSport; 02-06-2013, 08:51 PM.
