  • E28 coilover help!

I just picked up my 82 e28 with cut springs. But they're cut too short to where you can't make it down the street.

So my question is. Can someone give me a cut and dry easiest coilover set up? I know ground control has coils but I can't justify spending 1700 on coils. And I see the DIY on here but I'm not a fabricator nor have the knowledge of spring rates or struts or what I would need to get.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks so much.

acquire used factory height springs, cut to ride height desired. About your only other option if you don't wanna make your own.

What he said. ^^^ If you're not willing to take the time to learn then you're not going to be able to make a set for a reasonable price.

Yeah I feel you. That's the laziness in me asking. But I'll probably just research more and build a set.

I was thinking like you with my e24 then I researched because I really wanted it and I gathered some very great information. That DIY is the cheapest way out, if you want a dream handling suspension you can have the Bilsteins revalved to the spring rates and I'm going to be using some springs from hypercoil or eibach just to have good quality and the rates I personally need.

I just used e30 lowering springs up front and cut the rears. It rides good. Corners nice. I wouldn't recommend cutting the fronts it rides like crap.
