  • h&r race on early model e30. not low enough in the rear?

so i just got a 1986 e30 4door. as we all know the early model e30 had higher arches. i wanted to know if there is a simple cheap fix to get the ass of this car lower. on the 15 the front sits perfect but in the back it sits about 2inches 2 high. any help would be very appreciated.

Removing the spring pads (if you haven't already) will get you about 1/2" lower. Other than that, the only thing you can do is get shorter springs.

Actually, you could fill the trunk with subs and hookers. Or heat/cut them. Don't do that though.

heating and cutting hookers leaves a rancid smell. i advise against it too

does anyone know what size springs the h and r race ones are? and how much shorter would i have to go to tuck some tire on 195/50/15?

The H&R's are a barrel type spring, so it doesn't really matter what size they are as you can't get others like it. What you want are some 5" 2.25" diameter 500lb/inch coilover springs. They won't have progressive rates like the H&R's do, but they'll be roughly the same max rate and the correct length to tuck tire.

And before you ask, Ground Control, Swift, Hypercoil, Skunk2, etc all make what you need.

You can just put them on there, just don't go jumping the car or else they'll fall out.
