  • Figuring out coilover spring length needed?

I was wondering if this would be a good way to figure out the length coilover spring I need. My car uses coilover style springs with an old lever arm set up.
I have an extra pair of springs in the correct weight I want but there to long.
Would it be fine to determine the length I need by cutting them.
Since there the weight I need they will compress the same. But once cut there not flat on the top anymore. With not being flat, do you think it will still work in figuring the length I need.

I would imagine you should be able to just get it pretty close that should work especially if all you're doing is test fitting and taking them back off.
