  • Need opinions on D2 coilovers:

I'm picking up an '87 325e in a couple days and I know that it's equipped with some D2 coilovers. I'm not too familiar with the brand, so I was wondering what opinions you guys had on them and possibly how they'll sit. From what I can gather from the owner, the wheels are 16x8 and 16x9.5 et35 apparently. Not sure of the tire specs though. I know that's a random handful of info, but anything you guys could tell me would rock. I've been browsing the forums and I usually see people running GC, Bilsteins, etc but never D2's. I hope that's not for a bad reason

Call up PhantasmUSA and ask them what their price is. It seems that most places that truly sell them are priced cheaper. My D2's for my Volvo were only $958 after being listed for a lot more. 30% off is what I was told by the guys over at Phantasm.

      Give that a go.

I have D2's as I previously mentioned mine sit pretty well and still have quite a bit of adjustment. Only complaint is the rears don't go low enough on my specific car so I'll have to modify them.

Does anybody else run these? I wanna see a couple examples of cars with D2's. Preferably e30's.

I dis-like them, they are soft, basically bc builds there coils and all the designs that they didnt want to use is what became D2 lol, everything from the dampner to spring rate has never been "good" that ive heard and seen, some people may like them but to have good fitment or be able to handle at all... you would not want to run these

I had D2 coils on my SC300 and S2000. Honestly they worked very nice for street duty. Never blew put easy 50k+ on them. Spring rates were decent and had great damping settings that you could feel. For under 1k you really can't complain.
            Legit.
