  • Lowering my e30 help

I'm coming here for help because I've tried the e30 forums and they all can't get past the fact that I'm not trying to drift my car. I have an 86 325e that has h&r springs and kyb shocks now. I like the ride but it's not low enough. Judging how it sits on the current set up and the wheels I'd like to be 2-2.5 inches lower. I have BCs on my Subaru that I like but I'm not sure if thats the way to go this time. I've looked into Ground Controls, FK koni sports, BCs, Cxracing, megan racing you name it. I have a decent budget but nothing too crazy. I'd prefer to not have to weld spindles but if I have to for a good set up I can. Any suggestions?? thanks

I'm not from america, but i hear nice things about GC. The main thing for getting low and still have suspension travel, you need to cut your struts.

i think you can send your struts to GC and they will cut and weld it. Also you can chose spring rates that suits your need.

KWv2 is a really nice setup, tho it requires that you send them your original struts and they will weld it. Or at least that's how it works here in Europeland

If i lived in america, i would get GC's i think. because of the wide selection of spring rates etc and not over sea shipping.

I'm curious about these BCs maybe you can help explain. I see lots of sets that the front is round and smooth at the bottom to weld to the stock bottom of the struts (spindles) These BCs I found seem to have a different bottom of the coilovers. Is that the back side of the spindle and there's like a hub on the other side you cant see??

Those coil overs that you are linking there are for the E36.

go with KW, they are widely used on street cars to race cars all with great results. BC borders on sucking when you get to a certain level of low.

GC is cool, but they always try and tell you what you need instead of just doing what you want and that bothers me.

i'm developing e30 suspension like our e36 coils but that's a mid to late summer release.

Thanks for all the help and KW would be amazing but they are out of my price range. I've got about $1000-1200 to use on coilovers so I'd only pull off used KWs at best. My e30 isn't my daily driver so I'm willing to sacrifice in ride comfort but I'm mainly looking for slammed and a bolt in system. If they have to be welded in then my price range drops a bit because I'm not sure I quite trust my welding skills for that

ask GC if they cant weld it up for you. I think you can.
