  • Suspension is uneven HELP

    H&R ulta low coilovers on a '97 2.0 gti

I noticed that my passenger rear was sitting higher than the driver, it was getting worse so I spun the passenger coil down a little.

the passenger collars are now 3/4" LOWER than the driver side

Even after this adjustment the drivers side still sits LOWER than the passenger side.

I replaced both rear upper strut mount bushings which kinda made it even, but I already notice the driver side sitting lower again.

I have no idea what it could be, but im 99% sure its not a blown shock.

    any help is appreciated.

    random pic for fun

well i can tell you it wouldnt be a blown shock, that would have nothing to really do with the actual height of the car.

We unbolted and removed the driver coilover yesterday and everything looked good. Havent looked at the passenger one since replacing the upper strut mount bushings. Im just really puzzled and dont know where to start.

could be bushings? maybe something is broken?

its hard to know without looking at it. maybe take it to a local mechanic and have them inspect it?

Maybe your strut tower has bulged on one side? Can't really think of any other explaination

First I think im gonna take both rear coilovers out and compare them. Next step will be taking it in somewhere. Dont really wanna pay someone labor to look at my suspension, but I think thats what it might come to.

Not a very true statement, more weight on the spring over time = spring sag...

you've never replace blown struts on a lowered vehichle and realized it now sits higher?

Dont think im a dick for what im about to tell you, because it happens to all of us so just double check.
-are your tires inflated to the same psi?
-are your struts and springs installed correctly?
-make sure your strut is not coming through into the car..
                - take both back wheels off and lower the rotos onto blocks.
-look at the springs and measure how much of each is compressed and make sure they are the same.
                - make sure they are compressing in the same place.
-make sure the springs are both turned the same way.(mirrored)
-ssometimes springs sag, loose rate or whatever so check all of that stuff and let us know
