coilovers for e30

hi iv got a bmw e30 316 1990 and i need to no what set of coilovers would give me the best drop (20-70) on front and rear. I bought a pair of jom coilovers and the drop wasn't enough i paid £210 for them and i would like to roughly pay £350 for a new set .

You can't pay that little for a new set and get low on them. To go low without cutting things your looking at around £700 for FK, BC etc..

dont people usually go with JOM or racelands with the e30's to go low? those coilovers are super cheap and from i have seen get you pretty low!

Too go low you need a full coilover setup for the front not a shock/spring setup like you get with JOM. Another option is too build your own but that involves cutting/welding so not an easy option but it will be more cost effective and get you low if done correctly

maybe he could run a shorter spring on the JOM's?

theres really not much more of an option for coilovers in that price range.

... maybe try looking around for a used set of some other coilovers on the forums?!

If he runs shorter springs it will be lower but the shocks will bottom out all the time because there OEM height

corsa nova and seat arosa springs fit in the rear and give a pretty big drop but a shit bounccy ride because of the spring rates, the corsa b spings go the lowest and are £20 of ebay

iv seen a set of Bilstien coilovers originally supplied as a B12 suspension kit, the front struts were converted to coilovers with 550lb springs will these get me low or will i have to change the springs ?

Those springs look really long so I'm going to say no but new springs aren't crazy money. If there just normal bilstien shocks and your going to run your standard top mounts the shocks may bottom out. It really depends how low your aiming to go.

They should be fine for that if not a little more
