Why do you want to stay 5.5"ID? You can get down to a 4" height spring if you go to 60mm, 2.5" or 2.25" It shouldn't be hard to make a new spring seat to suit the smaller ID

I guess part of me wants to stay somewhat original.. and another part of me doesn't like the idea of a 4inch spring.. I know I don't really have an argument here.. lolOriginally posted by JC.'Stance' doesn't have to be scraping your car along the floor, that is simply the scene that has caught on. Scored a cheap 8.25" spring with a 500 spring rate so when that gets here I can see where that will sit it at and how a 500lb spring will compress, and I have cut the springs already like 2 or 3 coils (its immobile as of now and I have a spare stock set of springs) and that put it here (with my 16's from my black car)

one thing you might wanna try is taking the shock out completely and the spring and compress the suspension to see if you can get the the desired height, if so then put ur springs back in place and then chop them to get back to the desired height with the springs in place. then you have to either get shorter shocks or cut out the factory shock mount and replace it with one that mounts it farther in the engine compartment.
