First off, I drive an '89 325i. I love the car, but the suspension (eibach's and bilstiens) leaves much to be desired. I would like a stiffer, adjustable suspension. Sooooo...
I've been in contact with raceland regarding their production of e30 coilover kits. So far, no luck. They don't make it. They don't know when they will make it. I've had racelands on a couple of my cars previously, and for the most part I liked them. In my opinion, they are hard to compete with for the price.
Anyways, I want to modify a set of e36 front coilovers to fit my e30. It looks like I could just cut off the mounting plate for the e36 spindle and slide it into a modified e30 spindle. This is where I need you. I need to know what the diameter of the front struts are at the lower unthreaded section. Also, if possible, the overall length of the whole strut. As far as I know, the rears should work without major modification.
Any help would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has done something like this before, I would love to hear your input.
Thanks!
