Who knows where to get a good coilover for one. My buddy has one back down in PA, and wants to bring it up this summer. He has springs and struts right now, but wants to get some coils. Any suggestions?

If the suspension is anything like most of the pre E30 BMW's an adjustable coilover isn't hard to make...
An E28/E24 coilover kit from GC would probably be adaptable assuming the strut diameter is the same. As for the rear, throw some Billy sports and some the rear GC kit on there and I think you'll be good.
Check this write-up I made for E28's.

Did you make the coilovers? IE did you weld them together? I emailed GC and no response as of yet. I'm imaging that E9 stuff is the same running gear as an E3, so I could probably just order what you got.

Barry,
You're awesome. Do you have a bill of materials that you got from GC? I'm not getting a response from them as far as my email goes. What strut inserts did you use? Did you weld the gland nut on?Last edited by TheNeek; 07-21-2009, 07:25 PM.
