  • Can air be stiffer than coilovers?

Hey guys, Im looking to do an air over coilover setup in hopes of having a stiffer ride than what i have now. I've seen people like spencer nielson (bagged red brz) driving with a fender an inch away from the the barrel of a wheel. if he can drive that stiff on bags, then im assuming i could drive low if not lower than what i drive now, static. Can i anyone shed some light? my goal is to have less an an inch of travel on an air suspension

Yeah sure can, higher psi the stiffer you get. Just have to adjust the lower part of your coilover to set the car lower so when you add more psi you aren't a monster truck wheel gap.

Maybe what you want is "air cups"? Little air controlled pistons that mount on top of a spring and give you 1" or 2" or 3" lift when you need it, otherwise they run without air and give the coilover full control.

Well the main problem is, i drive a 2006 hyundai sonata.. no nothing for it aftermarket, and so i slammed it on some custom HSD coilovers i had built for my car. Unfortunately they just run way too soft. They've rebuilt them 3 times but just cant seem to get it right, and so i figured air is more universal, so why not go air, and get the same effect? Idk how to post a picture of my car. but its slammed as f, check it out on ig @nicolasharper but anyways, I guess im looking to air as a solution to unstiff coilovers

ive looked at air cups but they seem a little far from my budget that I have, and only one company i know that makes cups to actually be driven on.
