  • Air ride - Front needs to go lower - HELP

    Hi all,

need some assistance. I have an air ride setup fabricated and installed by Rayvern.

i need help with the fronts... They dont go low enough for my liking.
i didnt buy it originaly as they cam with the car. so i dont want to go back to them.

I want to lower the front more when dropped. ive recently fitted universal camber top mounts which lowered it about 10mm more, but id like another 5-10mm to get it decked.

currently it has a strut with a firestone bag fitted. it looks to me as if the bag bolts to a base plate that is welded to the shrut body.
Can i just remove the bag, grind the weld to remove th lower plate and then re-weld it lower down the strut..??
    see pic below

if so when welding to a strut what about the internals? (i.e. gas / oil)

do i weld small sections and cwench with water inbetween.? like i had to do with the new airlift rear i made few months ago.?

looking to sort this right away.. please help. dont want to wreck the struts, i'm a compitant welder, will be using TIG.

    all assistance greatly appreciated.
    thanks
