Hello everyone. I am in dire need of some assistance with my build. Nobody seems to have any idea how to resolve this right. Basically I am in the process of building air suspension for my e30. There’s a few build threads that shows the basics of the build with how the struts are being welded and mounted since there isn’t any direct bolt in setups.
I basically copied exactly what they did in their builds but I’m having a big issue with it. Basically when I air up I am not getting enough wheel clearance to even be able to turn at driving psi which is said to be 75psi with these bags. So first thing I thought of was that maybe I cut off too much of the strut tube and the bag wasn’t getting compressed enough to actually lift the car, even though other people cut it around the same place. So I went back and temporarily tack welded an additional extra 3 inches to the tube on one side just to see if it would resolve my problem compared to the other. Well, it didn’t. In fact the after I did this I tested it and at 0psi both sides still sat just as low which was good. But then when I aired up to 75psi they still measured the same side to side.. the only real difference I got was close to max psi where the extended side gained 1 inch. None of this seems to be adding up and I am in a big dilemma that I cannot figure out. If anyone has any ideas please help! Thank you.
