  • Accuair Sensor Attachment

Hey guys, great forum by the way!

For mounting the Accuair sensors to the chassis. Can I just drill two holes and use self tapping metal screws? What does most people do? Is that secure enough or will I have to weld mounts?

    Thanks

You definitely want to mount them to something rigid that won't flex or move. Sheet metal of the body is fine, plastic wheel liners or covers would be a NO. You could use self tapping screws. I've drilled holes and tapped them instead of using the nut, so it's the same idea. Just don't crush the sensor if using self tappers and a drill.

      Thanks mate,

I guess I could always drill two holes once the arch liner is cut away and tap them?

I like to mount my sensors away from any moving objeats and in this case it's under the frame rail using a metal strip. There should never be any force on that sensor so it's just mounted to keep it rigidly in place.
