  • Airride BMW E61

    Hello!

Me and my friend are looking for a Airride kit for BMW E61, but we can't find any.
    Anyone know where to look?
Do they use "Bagovercoil" in the front, some shorter shocks and changes the bags at the back of the car for this model, In that case what bags and shock should we look for?

And does it matter what coilovers we have if we are using bag-over-coil?

    Best Regards Mattias

Hello. I'm in the same situation as you.

I own a BMW 530d e61 and am looking for the best airride setup for my car.

I have decided to mount AirRex front struts (from bmw e60, same as for e61) in the front // Bilstein B8 rear shock absorbers with UAS Air House 2 airbags. And for the management Airlift Autopilot V2 with dual Viair 400c compressors and 5gal tank.

Other option that I was considering is mount "bagovercoil" with BC-Racing Coils and Airhouse 2 Bags in the front, and bilstein + uas bags in the rear.

    Regards!

Exactly the same cars we are talking about.
I didn't think it was the same struts, but now i got that confirmed!

What is the difference in performance between a whole bag strut and a bagovercoil?
Do you need to change the rear bags or can u keep the old ones?

Is the rear shocks from Bilstein adjustable in both height and stiffness?

      Best Regards Mattias

I'm 90% sure that are the same, I'm waiting confirmation from airrex.

Bagovercoil is a coilover adapted to airride, changing the spring for an airbag with them brackets. Airstrut is p&p, without adaptation.

In the rear you should to change the bags, OEM bags aren't designed for the same purpose. I'm going to mount UAS AirHouse 2 bags.

Bilstein b8 are sport shocks made for lower cars, but they aren't adjustable in height and stiffness. However, you can keep your OEM shocks, but that, can hold up your rear suspension from going lower.

        Regards.

Okay, So bagstruts and bagovercoils do behave similar?

I see, we will definitly change bags then, we'll see about the rear shocks, I know you can ride pretty low with the OEM.

          Best Regards
