  • Accuair height sensor plugs

Hi guys, I'll soon be installing the ride height sensors for my car. I'm running an Accuair self levelling system.

Can I take the plugs (that plug into the ride height sensors) apart, so I can run the wire through the body (with a grommet) instead of drilling a massive hole the size of the plug?. I can take a few pics of them as I believe there are different kinds out there.

I had a look and the only one that can be opened up is the the main plug that goes into the ECU and has 12 wires, so I didn't try forcing it etc

I know you can for the older sensors. I had to take one apart as one of the wires came out of the plug. I just used a small screwdriver to release the pins. A pin removal tool would have made it a bit easier but whatever.

I just cut and soldered the wires back together to get them through my car. Looking back after knowing they come apart I wish I would have done it that way. I would assume the new ones should come apart. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in.

    Old sensor pic for reference

Sweet...that's exactly the sensor I have. Thanks for the info. I thought about cutting the wires and resoldering but I'd rather take the plugs apart and re clip.

I notice the plugs on the wheel side say "ford'
