  • Bags are Fabulous

Looking for some tapered sleeve style bags to fit over my existing setup. I have a Honda S2000 with BC Racing coilovers and looking to throw a bag in place of the spring. I was looking at using the Ksport bags but later found out that BC strut bodies are actually bigger than most coilovers and have 53mm bodies (Correct me if I'm wrong). It is possible to get the mounts drilled out and tapped 1mm but its also possible to sell the coils. Does anyone else know of any bags out there that I could do this with? Options are quite limited for the S2000.

    Thanks

Unfortunately the only bags on the market for a bag over coil setup are the Aero Sport line from Universal Air. No one makes a universal tapered sleeve bag that will be able to go over your existing coilovers.

I was looking at different style air struts and the wrx rear looks like the bags would work as long as the diameter of the thread is the same. Do you know the diameter for those?

Even if you were able to find someone to sell you the bags/mounts, it's more than just threading them over your coilovers. The body of an air strut typically has additional machining for the lower mount to seal. And even one step further, the diameter of the shock piston would have to match that of the donor in order for the top to seal. It's far easier, and likely less expensive to just buy the correct air struts.

Yeah Kyle's right. There are way more variables than just finding a bag that looks like it will fit. I don't know the diameter of the WRX rears and even if I had an answer for you, I don't know how you would go about acquiring them because you can't purchase the bags separately. The only way you can get them separately is if you pop one and need a replacement but you have to have an invoice proving that you purchased a wrx rear kit as well as pictures of the damage done to the bags. There really isn't an easy way to go about bagging this car without purchasing an air setup that was designed for it
