  • Air bag spring side feed

    Hey all,

I'm currently looking for a pair of air bag springs that have an air input feed on the side, rather than on the top as I don't want to drill through the floor. And I don't want to make mounts that add 30-40mm to the airspring just to fit a right angled air fitting.

Do these exist? Bags are going in the rear of my VW T5 van.

Not really sure how the van suspension is set up, but is there any way you can flip the bag over, so the 'top' is at the bottom. then you just have to drill into the bottom spring mount instead of the body of the car. In my Saab I was able to poke the fitting through the existing hole in the bottom of the control arm it mounts into. Again, not really sure if it'll help, but you never know.

Thanks for the reply. It can't be flipped upside down as the air spring sits directly on top of the lower control arm. Which has a steel pivot to hold the bag in place, I believe it wouldn't be safe to cut this pivot off as there isn't really any other way to keep the bag in place.
