  • car wont air up

Went out to my car today and it only aired up to 60 psi and the compresor kicked on, so i let it sit for about 3-4 minutes and the compressor still wasnt off nor would the car air up any higher. i can hear the valves clicking when i press up but nothing happens.

it was 19 degrees over night, but is that really cold enough to freeze my bags? and would that have anything to do with the compressor staying on for an oddly long amount of time?

Sounds like your lines may be froze up. Try running a cap full of air brake anti-freeze in the tank. This will keep the lines and valves from freezing.

I doubt your lines are frozen since the car actually lifted. If your compressors aren't shutting off and the tank isn't filling, the check valves on the compressor leader lines are most likely frozen shut. The Viair check valves really suck in the winter and everyone at Bag Riders has had issues with them. We all run the SMC check valves with our compressors and we've never had issues with them freezing before. Definitely something you might want to look into for the future!

Rali can you hit the check valve with a heat gun or a hair dryer to get it unstuck?

i might do that, i was thinking about ordering a new water trap anyways, mine broke.
but i managed to get it in my garage and let it sit all day. when i checked at night everything was thawed out and good.

Yeah you definitely can but sometimes the Viair check valves get ruined once they freeze and no longer make a solid seal so you'll get a reverse leak through your compressor intake.

My car froze to the ground that same day! I was able to fix it in about 15 minutes. Then I was your post on instagram when I was at school and giggled a bit.

My advice would be in the future when it's cold, don't air out all the way. Just in caseI have had friends that I've seen this happen to, huge pain in the ass that can be avoided.

                              This is true

I'll have to think smart about it when I'm finished installing my suspension.
