  • Stretching Winters

Can anyone think of a reason why I shouldn't stretch winter tires? Because I can't. Also, I'm assuming winter tires run narrower than normal tires..? Does anyone have experience stretching a winter or similar tire?

This isn't for my M3, btw. Just planning ahead because I don't let snow stop me from rolling hard.

I've driven 205/50R17 on 8,5s. Not much stretch, but still stretched. Worked out just fine here in the cold woods of Norway No problems at all.

Ran 10x18's with 245/40-18 on Porsche twists on the Rocco last winter, no problems

                  9x19 with 235/35 this year

For me it's a matter of why? I'm really not too concerned with the appearance in winter seeing as it's covered in salt & crap most of the time. I also want the most performance out of my winter setup as possible. Just my opinion.

This is StanceWorks. Besides, I'm only going to improve performance by running a narrower tire.

Its fine, there was a picture of a subaru on here last winter that was running like 215's on 9.5's. Just watch the pressure more would be my only concern.

I'm a pressure checking freak anyway. lol I check my tire pressure usually once a day. I used to check like 3 times a day since I had my fikses which would constantly be leaking and making me paranoid.
