205/40/17 okay for 9/9.5 wide

i found a decent set of used tires for a good price. would the size be fine for staggered 17x9, 9.5 wheels?

go with 215s on the 9.5s 205s would be alot of stretch unless ur looking for that..im in need of some 215s also for my 9.5s but all i can find is 205s..lol
the 205s should be fine on the 9s

depends on the tire. I just downsized from a 215/45/ on my 9 to a 205/40. Couldn't be happier, I got federals so I knew the tread was going to be about equal to my 215 falkens but the 40 sidewall is a dream for fitment.
