  • Rebuilding my BBS's; What color?

I am rebuilding my BBS RS's and will be having them media blasted and powder-coated to sell or trade them to get a set of 17" RS's

What color should I do in order to get them to sell best?

I would take the cost of powder coating and reassembly etc and deduct that off your price. You appeal to a greater market. You gotta think you gonna put a 6k pink paint job on a car and sell it, or sell it primer for 6k less? Long story short, you will limit your buyers and waste your time refinishing them to sell it.

I see you took them apart already...so silver? or pink? I dunno?!?!?!?!?!?!?

      ....Seriously?

You win the award for more unhelpful post ever... I would not get nearly as much for a set of dirty old nasty RS's as I wold for a nice set of freshly rebuilt amazingly clean ones.

Anyways, I am going to have them blasted and post them up raw and ready to coat. I have powder-coat hook ups and live 2 sec away from BFI so I'll see how selling them as a fully customizable rebuilt set goes. Any color/kind of bolts, caps, or centers and in any color of newly coated faces and barrels you want. Made to order hot and fresh.

... if thats a no go I'll put a coat of fresh gunmetal/anthracite rebuild em and sell them to someone boring. lol jk... not really

I would stay simple with the colors, or put in your for sale thread "will powdercoat the color of your choice after deposit is given"
I did just this when i refurbished the last set of BBS RS and this made three serious offers come out of nowhere.

          Let me tell you this...

Most people don't want to buy sets that haven't been completed. They don't want to put deposits down and wait, and take chances from people they don't know. I know this because I've probably sold 40 sets of RSs, and have only been able to sell maybe 2 or 3 of those unfinished or needing to be put together.

Get them finished, in a standard color and proceed with sale.

good food for thought, I think if they don't sell with in 2 or 3 weeks w/ the whole 'Made to Order' thing then I will just put them together standard and sell them.
