Boring out lug holes

Who has done this? I picked up some SSR Viennas for my 240sx, and was going to run them on my GTI for a little while (5x114.3 to 5x112 with wobble bolts). Unfortunately, what I didn't take into account was that the 240 is 12x1.5 and the GTI is 14x1.5 sooooooo my wobble bolts don't fit. Has anyone bored out the lug holes in order to be able to run larger bolts/studs with wheels?

A few friends have had sets done by a local machine shop. We have a friend that works there and will do a set for like $30-40.
