  • Gentlemen, a question.

I was queried on the below fitment issue, and it is so far outside of my expertise that there was no reason for me to attempt to answer it when I could pass it to the true authorities.

This gentleman found me on Youtube, and does not consider his English to be the best, so I am trying to help get him the right info without too much overhead on his part.

    rim ET problem

    Hi!

I want buy a BBS rs 745 for my BMW e36 sedan. The rims are 8*18 ET 24 and 9*18 ET 24. I dont think, that i can put that on my car, because the rims are to wide. How could you solve the problem, that the rims didnt touch the mudguard? Do you cut something off, from the mudguard? What? I cant solve this problem... Can you sned me perhaps photos, from the inboard of the mudguard?

    Thank You!

So...BBS RS745? Or RS wheels off a 745? He's trying to fit an 18x8 up front, 18x9 in the rear with ET24. In my world he has exactly a snowball's chance in hell of making it happen, but if it can be done I know you will collectively know how to do it. I know I should have searched for the information, but my plan is to send him the link to this thread to watch for replies as the best way to expedite getting him the information.

Thanks for checking out the thread. And thanks for any help you can give me. Him. Us.

so a quick google search reveals the RS745's come with an e39 centerbore (74.1mm), so he will need hub rings, like all e36 guys do when mounting stlye 5's. They are ET20, so I think he is actually good to go!

Please update us with some pics, RS's in this config seem super rare!!!

That's a pretty easy fitment right there.

Rolled rear fenders and 215/35/18 all around or maybe some 225/35/18s in the rear instead and he's all set.

      I should know, my wheels are 8x18 ET20, 9x18 ET22.
