Need help fast putting tires on tomorrow

i have a 95 m3 i have 18x9 fiske fm5s with 225/40/18 tires right now i need a little more stretch for better fitment

now the size i asked for is 215/40 now my question is is that a good size for mayne 2 or 3mm of clearance ???

also can anyone show me some pics of a 215 or whatever smaller than 225s on a 18x9 soo i can get a better idea before i go spend 700 dollars for tires tomorrow
