  • Step lipped Volk GTC questions

So I've been talking to a guy about buying a set of step lipped Volk GTCs from him. Specs are 17x8 & 17x9 +25 5x100. They were painted bronze and they are currently disassembled, the lips are brushed. Barrels look fine to me. He said he would paint the bolts and they come with center caps.

I've never had a set of 3 piece wheels and I am somewhat unfamiliar with them. He wants $1,000 shipped from Lexington, KY to Douglasville (Atlanta area) Georgia. Is this a fair price? About how much would it cost to have these assembled? Anything look suspicious or weird about them to you guys?

I appreciate all the help I can get. I am a college student and these are in my budget, but I can't afford them breaking or anything being wrong with them as I daily my car. I wouldn't say I drive it hard, but you never know what could happen.

Here are the photos he sent me:

PS: The white ones were prior to the bronze paint!

Do your own research, see if comparable wheels are available and what the the prices are. 1k with shipping seems high for those wheels, as they need assembly and polishing.

Depends on where you go. Can be from $60 to $150 per wheel.

Not from the pictures provided, but it is best to inspect things first hand.

If they are properly assembled and sealed, there is not much that can spontaneously break.
