  • tire wobble

so i just mounted nankangs 225/35/19 on my 9.5 csl rear wheel.(btw its an e46 sedan).
On my way from the tire shop i noticed that everytime i go over 70 miles an hour , i feel that the whole back of the car is wobbling , the more i increase the speed the more it happenns.
i had a similar setup on my fronts for a while now(215/35/19 on an 8.5) but the car drove smooth.
dont get me wrong it looks sick, i love the stretch.

im running 20mm spacers in the back and 10mm front.

what is causing that ? spacers or tire?
i just picked up the spacer from a local shop, they fit well, they are hubcentric for bmw
    thats what the guy claimed

either you need hub rings or you have hub rings on a car that doesnt need them for the wheels and its messing with the ride

        maybe a bent wheel

maybe a bubble in the sidewall

Defenitely not a bent wheel. And it never did that with my old spacers and 235 tire. I'm suspecting the new spacers. Gonna switch back to the old one tommorw and c the differnce. Will keep u posted.

could be any one of those listed the other issue is you wheel bearings could be going out as well

Are the spacers hub centric to the wheel and the car? You might also want to check the torque setting on those bolts. It should be 89-90 ft lbs. Never trust an impact gun when putting on spacers. Wheel bearings are also an issue if you're running lots of camber but you would notice it over time and it would be one side at a time not both. Lift the car on the air and see if you get any play in the hub.

off topic - how do you like the black csl on a red car? I just put staggered matte black rims on my car yesterday and I didn't like the red on matte black combo. It feels like something is missing or that it the wheels aren't right for the car. I'm thinking to switching back to silver or machine finish wheels.

                problem was solved.
the new spacers were the issue, they fit on the hub ring but not snug.
i put the old spacers back and the car ran smooth.
the guy who sold me the spacers didnt know what the hell he was doing.
what should i ask for specificaly when i buy spacers for the e46?
