  • Making wheels with low offset fit? Fender Rolling/Pulling questions.

Hey guys. I'm new here, but definitely not new to cars. I currently own a MK6 Jetta TDi. It's slammed (well, as slammed as it can go) on WRD Coils (Bags are coming hopefully before the end of summer). I recently purchased a set of ESR SR02 wheels, 18x8.5 et 30 with 215/40/18's in the front and 225/40/18s in the rear.

Now, I've seen quite a few guys run an offset of 35 on a Jetta, but I cant seem to find anybody who has run et 30... I did a test fit a few days ago, and they stick out probably half an inch. I bought a fender roller a few days ago, and one of my buddies and I are going to attempt to roll and/or pull the fenders tonight. Any advice? I'll post pics here in a few, to see if you guys think I could make these wheels fit lol

I had the tires in storage from an old set of wheels, so pardon the nasty tires.

Way too much poke... the car was still on jack stands, so I'm assuming that there will be at least some camber to pull them in a bit. Think it'll be possible to get these to fit?

      camber the rears.

make sure to heat the paint so it doesn't crack when you're rolling. Keep in mind this isn't really going to make your fenders 'bigger' per say, but it'll just eliminate the lip inside the fender so you won't rub, you're still going to have some poke afterwards. Also when you're lowered the wheels will naturally camber and fit a little better.

That's what I was hoping for lol. I may try to do a slight fender pull (probably only a few millimeters) in the front if the camber doesn't bring the wheel in enough.

Use a lot of heat and take your time, those front fenders are very easy to trash. A lot of people will trash their fenders to fit a certain set of wheels but if your not absolutely in love with them I wouldn't go crazy trying to pull your fenders to fit them. I think a lot of your issue is tire size/brand tire. Going smaller will make it look less aggressive and a lot easier to fit. I'd knock them down to 205 all around or do 215-35 all around.

Definitely going to be running 205 I'm the front, and 215s in the rear here in about a month. I just had a car show coming up next weekend so I settled for these. Probably going with Neogens soon. I actually ended up not having to pull my fenders any, but I did roll the front. The fronts actually don't rub any, but the rear rubbed quite a bit. VW has a camber bolt in the rear, so I ended up going max camber (like 4 degrees or so), and now they fit pretty well.
