Help* Need Advice On My Wheels

Hi there - this is starting to happen to my wheels.. I was wondering if you had any quick fix remedies you could share with me on how to clean / prevent this from happening.

Rainy. Sits outside. I want to say they're chrome.

Well, it would be nice to know for sure if chrome or polished aluminum.
The polishing compounds are different.

The lips are for sure polished aluminum, but I need to check on the face since they are 3pc wheels. They also could have a clear coat on them.

My buddy mentioned soapy water and 2000 grit sand paper or 00 sis pad.

That works on bare aluminum, a no-no on chrome or anodized surface. You'd still need to polish after.

if they're polished, you'll probably need to resand and repolish- or do an aggressive machine polish. then you can seal with some type of wax that'll prevent the rust in the future
