  • 15x7 0 offset + 25mm spacer = 15x8 ? offset

I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly but...

I'm currently running a 15x7 0 offset wheel, and with a 25mm (1 inch) spacer, i can get exactly flush to my fender. but i want to stick out at least 1/4 of an inch more.. so a 35mm
    spacer would probably do it.

i also don't mind using my old 25mm spacer on a 15x8 wheel with 0 to + offset, as long as i have at least a 3 inch lip. so what offset/backspace would that amount to on a 15x8 wheel?

I'm not exactly sure what your asking since your post isnt clear, but if your wondering what offset on a 15x8 would have the same outer position as a 15x7 +0, then the answer is 15x8 +13

sorry for not being precise but you actually answered part of my question.

      what i meant to ask was 15x7 0 offset + 25mm spacer = 15x8 ? offset?

        its a 15x7 -25 so that would translate to a 15x8 -12

          15x7 0 offset + 25mm spacer = 15x7 -25 (negative 25) offset

          for a 15x8 to have the same outer position as 15x7 -25, you'd need 15x8 -12

          Edit: too slow.

            ok sweet. thanks.

what if i wanted to use my 25mm spacer on a 15x8 to achieve the same position as a 15x8 -12?

and how are you guys calculating this? so i can do it myself next time, haha

Well, you'd just need a wheel that is 15x8 +13

Spacers just decrease the beginning offset by whatever thickness the spacer is.

                thanks, that helped a lot.

is it safer to run 15x8 +13 with the 25mm spacer since the hub is closer to the center rather than a 15x8 -12? or it really doesn't matter

It doesn't really matter. It would depend on the way the wheel is made if you found something that is 8 -12. Offset/backspace is adjustable by the lip (or concave if it's not a lipped wheel) and by the thickness of the mounting pad.
