Work VS-XX "2D chrome" finish??

So i bought a set of vsxx with the discontinued 2d chrome finish on the faces. My question. How do I refinish these? What kind of coating is it? Is it like enkeis "SBC" chrome finish that isn't actually chrome, or is it actually chrome plated. I'm super confused so if you know anything about this coating let me know. Thanks
