  • Extreme summer performance tires

Can't decide between advan ad08r or direzza z2 star spec.
Which one do you recommend and why?
They are both about the same price on tirerack.

My car is a 91 nissan z32 NA.
It's not my daily and I put about 3-5k miles per year, never driven in the rain.
I'd like to get into autox or a track day 3-5 times a year.
Wheels are bbs LM 18x9 and 18x10, tires will be 225/40 and 255/35.

Also consider Federal 595 RS-R. I have these on my Smart Roadster slalom racer, and they work very well. They are far cheaper with nearly the same specs. Mind you that the Roadster is an extremely light car, around 800kg, they might behave differently on your Nissan. Also, getting the tires up to temperature can be quite hard because of the low weight on the front axle, but once they are warm, they are grippy as hell! Size for the Roadster is 205/45/R16, close to the specs of your Nissan in terms of width.

I want to purchase from discount/America's tire or tire rack, and they don't sell federal. I actually currently have federal ss595. Good if you want to drift (which I don't).

Not so sure a 205 16" and a 255 18" will have the same characteristics, especially since my car is about 3200lbs and biased towards the front.

I'm pretty set on the advan or direzza but need help deciding.
