epic fit. they'll go on. i reckon a 235 would be a better bet though, some camber and a roll of the arches and should be all good. my 9x17's at et20 tuck rim 2.0" -camber (and need spacers) so an extra inch should be do able with thewhole lip flat (but i am running 205 tyre)

      Thats damn near perfect.
He likes square tires, so I was trying to get him the best of both worlds with the setup I spec'd for him.

I was mostly just looking for pictures of the same setup that other people are running to show him that it will work and I'm not just blowing smoke

it can be made to fit, the question is whether or not he's willing to make them fit

Its definately possible with 235's, rolled/pulled fenders, and around -3 to -4 degrees camber. I was able to get -3.7 out of the stock camber adjustment, but he will probably need adjustable rear control arms(Ksport, UUC, and bimmerworld are good options). E46 sedan fenders are pretty easy to roll flat in comparison to coupe fenders also. TopazKD just fit 19x10.5 et20 on his coupe so its possible and just a matter of if your friend is down to do the work to make it fit. I followed the thread on e46fanatics and most people in there have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to stance/making wheels fit.

I know what rolled fenders are but can you (or someone in the forum) explain to a girlie girl like me what exactly does "pulled" fender means? Or how it's done? Thanks!

Yeah I saw TopazKD's car but hes running some horrible camber- something like -7, right? Still pretty awesome that he made it work but I know my friend would never go for that. Whats the specs of the wheels in your sig?

Pulling a fender is making the vertical part above the fender opening pull outwards, done either with a fender roller or professional bodywork. Kinda hard to explain so I'll show a pic of mine: This is a slight pull done with a roller

you cant roll e46 fenders like that^

they are way too thick. the thing about fitting that size if you will need a lot of stretch, cut/pulled fenders (since hes performance oriented, he wont want to rub)

when you cut/shave your fenders, you put yourself at high risk for rubbing/the fender separating. especially with an aggressive wheel like that.

so yes, they can fit. but for someone who wants performance its probably not the best idea

                Widebody B6 build

HIT ME UP if you need Ksport supplies. i can get them to you cheaper than anyone.

its literally pulling the fender out to widen them. Theres a variety of ways to do it, fender roller, hammer, newpaper pull. and theres more extreme ways that involve cutting.

                    Wow! Thanks for the illustration!

So if I went to a shop that performs fender rolling, they should be able to "pull" my car's fender that same day or does it take a day or two to modify a fender in this manner?

Most people in the BMW community, excluding here, wouldn't run anything but stock widths/offsets so don't listen to them

Pulling a fender actually pulls/pushes it out past where the fender originally sat. With e46's you can't roll the fenders as aggressive as the picture posted, but you can get it to pull out ~10mm without needing a paint job. You can pull it more aggressively but you will probably crack the paint and need new paint.

I've been following his thread and he got the camber adjusted to from -6.8 to -2 and will post pics when he gets a chance. Im following it because i want 10.5 rears.

The wheels in my sig are before spacers. The specs on them are:
                        Work VIP Super Autostradas
                        Front: 19x8.5 et28 with 225/35/19 (now et18 w/ 215/35's)
                        Rear: 19x9.5JJ et41 with 245/35/19 (now et21 w/ 225/35's)

I'm still waiting on some other exterior mods before doing another photoshoot with the new specs though.

If it's possible to pull them 10mm's then the wheels would be almost perfectly flush with 3* of camber, which would be sweeeet.

I think I finally got him to keep the wheels, he ordered the camber parts the other day

Hey guys, I'm the friend in question.

I've decided that I'm going to do all that I can to make this work. I've sold a set of wheels that I spend almost 25 hours polishing to pay for the camber plates and rear adjusters and just need to sell my old e30 exhaust to get the rest of the money. I've done some of the math regarding how much the camber will change the geometry of the wheel, and 2.5 degrees of camber will bring the top of the wheel in ~0.46 inches, and if the fender can be brought out 10mm (~0.39 inches), then I'll only have 0.14 inches of poke, and if I do 3 degrees of camber I'll only have 0.05 inches of poke.

I think that's something I can live with. Basically I want to be able to do a few driving classes this summer and can't afford to buy two sets of wheels and tires to do that. Well, I can't justify spending all of my summer money on it (I'm a college student and I'll be in Germany next year and want to save up money to travel while I'm abroad)

But, I'm starting to feel pretty good about this. Thanks for all the input guys. Also: yaaaaay trig/geometry
